Becky Newell over at MOCA (the Museum of Contemporary Art in the Ozark Bathhouse in Hot Springs) sends over this alert: “It’s a blast at MOCA. Thursday afternoon the sculpture piece “Grenade” by Santa Fe artist Martin Cary Horowitz was unloaded on the front lawn of the Museum of Contemporary Art at the Ozark. This is the first piece of our summer exhibit honoring our war vets. The 6-foot-tall, gold-leaf -encrusted grenade speaks volumes. Reactions to the piece are going to vary from why a grenade, to perhaps war is just too big for us to handle. Ya’ll gotta see it. It’s fabulous and quirky all rolled up into a giant hand grenade!”
