Peg Smith was one of a kind: She love this state, its history and its people and she did something about it, by working to preserve the nature of the Quapaw Quarter and by serving more than a half-century on the board of the Arkansas Territorial Restoration, which became the Historic Arkansas Museum. She started HAM’s focus on Arkansas art, creating its first gallery for native artists. Now, HAM is honoring its late supporter with the installation of public art: “pARTy for Peg,” a square dance installation in aluminum by Alice Guffey Miller.
